SU Student Should Recover From Tuesday Night Shooting

Salisbury University President Janet Dudley Eshbach told a vigil last night that the student Kristen Loetz is expected to recover and could walk again after being shot by a former boyfriend Tuesday night.

20 year old Loetz is now at Shock Trauma in Baltimore and is listed in critical but stable condition.

The incident occurred at the residences on Onley Road when an argument developed between Loetz and 21-year old Ryan Shallue.

The Friends of Delmarva Public Radio will be meeting this afternoon with the President of Salisbury University Janet Dudley-Eshbach and the University’s Provost Diane Allen with a proposal to take over management of the station.

Future of Salisbury University Funding for Delmarva Public Radio

Dr. Diane Allen, provost and senior vice president of academic affairs, says she has not heard President Janet Dudley Eshbach say she is terminating funding for Delmarva Public Radio.


Dr. Allen says that the Salisbury University Foundation is weighing options for the stations and no decision has been made.


But in a statement released by the media relations department she added that the station cannot expect the University to “indefinitely provide an unlimited subsidy.”

Future of Delmarva Public Radio Signal in Doubt

The Salisbury Daily Times reports this morning that the future of one Delmarva Public Radio’s signals -- WSDL -- is in doubt.


Jason Curtin, interim executive director of the Salisbury University Foundation, told the paper that there was the possibility of major changes at the NPR News/ Talk signal.


He noted that there are a number of news/talk formats on Delmarva.


Meanwhile he said that the classical music station WSCL is not a format provided by anyone else in area.
