It was hot and were the politics at the J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake in Crisfield yesterday.
With Maryland’s state elections just around the corner next year… politicians showed up as they geared up for their campaigns.
On the Democratic side, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown who is running for governor showed up with his running mate Ken Ulman along with competitor Heather Mizeur.
Brown and Ulman by far had the largest contingent on hand.
Meanwhile, Republican Gubernatorial hopeful David Craig made a stop along with his running mate Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio.
Crisfield is set for today’s 36th annual J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake.
The all-you-can-eat fest will take place at Somers Cove Marina with food served from noon through 4 pm.
Gates will open at 9 am.
The tickets are $40 which includes a mug, mallet and condiments.
Food will range from steamed crabs and clams to fresh fried.
Lt. Governor Anthony Brown is expected to attend.
