ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A Maryland delegate is asking the attorney general whether it's legal for state police to allow up to 200 employees from five agencies to view prospective gun buyers' information as the state churns through an application backlog.
DOVER, Del. (AP) - A state House committee has voted to release a bill that expands criminal background checks for gun purchases in Delaware to cover sales between private sellers and buyers.
The measure cleared the Judiciary Committee on a 7-to-4 vote Wednesday and now heads to the full House.
Wednesday's vote came after the committee resumed a hearing on the measure after running out of time last week with opponents still waiting to speak against the bill. Committee members heard two more hours of public comment Wednesday.

The bill was tabled in the House judiciary committee Wednesday after time ran out with more than a dozen people still waiting to speak.
The committee will resume consideration of the bill next week. The vast majority of people who spoke at Wednesday's committee meeting were opposed to the bill.
A Dover teenage was shot last night in the abdomen, allegedly by a 14-year-old male.
Delaware State Police officials say the incident occurred Thursday at 8:20 p.m., at a residence on Park Lane.
According to reports, 14-year-old Kameron Scott, of Dover, retrieved a handgun from a bedroom inside the residence. He then approached a 15-year-old victim in the living room and pointed the gun at him.
